The Power to listen “between the lines”
Much of what we do is skill, knowledge and experience, but a great portion is also intuition. Often our calls are not ‘black & white’ and it takes the use of our ‘Spidey Senses’ to get to the truth of the call. People will try to gloss over details either out of embarrassment, impairment, or guilt and like any operator can attest to, Com Ops can hear through the B.S. and work towards the truth.
Listening is a key ability in this profession. Whether it be to a person’s words, tone of voice or just background noises.
